The Clay Mountain Range

The lower el students will be studying the parts of our planet this year. We began with a lesson about the parts of a mountain. We created our own mountain range - 'The Freeport Range'. Our 3rd years decided that because our mountains were tall and jagged, this must be a young mountain range - not at all like the Appalachians (I just love it when they bring up things we discovered during the previous school year!) We enjoyed sharing stories about mountains we have visited and ones we hope to visit.

Tomorrow they will make their own mountains to label and take home.
